Artemus Thompson Obituary

Mr. Artemus Lavorise Thompson, 37 of Rowland North Carolina, made a peaceful transition to heaven at our family home on Christmas morning December 25, 2022.  Artemus was born in Lumberton, North Carolina on December 2, 1985 to Hazel M. Thompson of Rowland, North Carolina and the late Raleigh E. Hamilton of Dillon, South Carolina.

As a young boy, Artemus was raised in Rowland and attended the Public School's of Robeson County where he earned his high school diploma.  After his completion of grade school, Artemus strived to become a successful entrepreneur, who was dedicated, and passionate about his work.  He was a humble giant who's perseverance and vision led him to obtain his  ultimate dream.  In 2020, his aspirations were realized when he became the sole owner and CEO of his company, 910 Railroad Express Transportation Service.  Shortly after creating his LLC, Artemus purchased his first 18 Wheeler, this was a major milestone for him.  Just two years later and three months ago to date, Artemus purchased a second 2020 model 18 wheeler, establishing his company's fleet, which catapulted his business to new heights.  Betting on himself, Artemus built a successful business from the ground up.

Through out his journey, he developed an interest in giving back to his community and became an ardent philanthropist.  He selflessly donated money to people who needed it, and bridged them together through his willingness to share the business knowledge he learned along the way. Artemus desperately wanted people to win, especially his people. A week before his unexpected passing, he conducted a Christmas raffle, and shared hundreds of dollars with his friends and family.  Those who knew him, and shard his giving spirit, mentioned "it's sad to give so much for Christmas, just to be gone on Christmas Day".  He was an all round amazing man with a pure heart of gold.

With all of Artemus' success, he loved nothing more than becoming a father.  His son, Ni'Vear Thompson of Rowland, North Carolina was his world, his best friend, his everything. The two were inseparable. He wanted his son to have all of the things that he desired as a child, and more.  He did his absolute best to ensure that his son was loved and most importantly felt the love of a father.  Artemus also adored his family, who he shared a tight connection with- his mother was the Queen of his heart.  Artemus was the knee baby of his four siblings, however, most people believed that he was the baby of the family due to the way his mother spoiled him.  He and his brothers were known in the town of Rowland, as those "Thomson Boys" or "Hazel's Boys" and they shared an unbreakable brotherly bond.  The connection shared between these four men is truly remarkable - a godsent.  His brothers will continue to honor his life through his work and by nurturing his only child to keep his legacy alive.

He also leaves to cherish fond memories, his mother Hazel Thompson, of Rowland, NC step-mother, Anita Hamilton, of Dillon, SC, his fianc'e Kammie McClean, of Charlotte, NC; five brothers Seneca Thompson, of Concord, NC, John Thompson, of Charlotte, NC, Radrelle Thompson of Rowland, NC, Jaralyn Brown of Rowland, NC and Sergio Gay, of Dillon, SC; , two step-brothers Jamel Hemingway and Kingi Hamilton, of Dillon South Carolina ; two sisters; Raleiah Hamilton and Chandra Gay of Dillon, SC; He also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
