Obituary for Belvia Ann Johnson
Mrs. Belvia Ann (Christian) Johnson, daughter of the late John Samuel Christian and the late Ellerwease Hayes Christian was born on March 7, 1953 in Fairmont, North Carolina. She was called home on October 20, 2022 in Charleston, SC.
Belvia was more lovingly called "Bell or Beverly" by most of those that knew her. She was a mother and "Auntie" to many outside her family.
Bell received her early education at  Hilly Branch Public School and Southside High School (Rowland, NC) before moving to Brooklyn, NY.  There she attended Franklin K. Lane High School. Upon moving to Brooklyn, NY, she became a member of Mt. Ararat Baptist Church. She began working at New York Telephone Company in 1970 and worked there for over 27 years until she was forced to retire due to health issues. In 2014 she returned to the Carolina's and found a new church home at St. Phillip AME Church, in Charleston, SC. She liked to start each day in prayer and by reading a selection from the Bible.

In addition to her parents, Bell was preceded in death by her brothers Robert L.  Christian, Johnnie L. Christian and her sister Betty Wallace.

Bell is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, Paul Johnson, her son Mark Sr. and her two daughters Marcia and Beverly. She is also survived by grandchildren Mark Jr., Anthony III, Quentin, Cameron, Mikayla, Braeden and Caleb; daughter-in-law Pearl and sons-in-law Anthony II and Wesley; sister Myrtle Christian-Moody and brother Anthony Chester; mother-in-law Josie Lee Johnson; brothers-in-law Larry Johnson, Quincy Johnson, Joseph (Ted) Johnson, Willie Johnson, Evan Johnson, James Moody and sisters-in-law, Mildred Johnson, Sue Alford Johnson and Ann R.
