Mr. Clarence Donald Robertson, son of the late Herbert and Elease Robertson was born in Raeford, North Carolina on Easter Monday April 10, 1950. Donald, as we all called him departed this earthly life to eternal rest on Saturday October 1, 2022.
He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, Proctorville, North Carolina. He attended primary and high school at Proctorville School. He played basketball as a point guard for Proctorville School during his senior year. The team went to North Carolina State 1A State Finals. Donald graduated from Proctorville High as Valedictorian of his class.
Donald graduated from A & T State University with a Bachelor of Science / Chemistry Education on May 14, 1972. He received his Master of Science in Education on May 19, 1984 from Nazareth College of Rochester, New York. Donald worked as a research chemist for Eastman Kodak in Rochester, New York. During his tenue at Eastman Kodak he determined that the kodak film was not meeting company quality standards and discovered a remedy to correct the problem. He saved the company millions of dollars for that discovery and was rewarded for finding the solution to the problem.
Clarence Donald was the oldest of five children. He leaves to cherish his memories his oldest sister and Caretaker Paulette Robertson; sisters Alice Belinda Bailey (James); Sharon Lynn Jones (Norman); brother Herbert Robertson Jr. ; Niece Allison D. Caldwell (Antonio) nephew James Bailey II (friend Chanei) ; three great nephews William, John and James III; Uncles James Robertson, Thomas Glenn and Adolph Powell; one aunt, Erma Robertson, and many cousins and friends.
I'm Free, Praise the Lord I'm free. No longer bound, No more chains holding me. My soul is resting, It's just a blessing. Praise the Lord, Hallelujah I'm Free!!!
