Elista Mae Abram

Mrs. Elista Mae Leonard Abram was born to the late Mr. Horace G. Leonard & the late Mrs. Eula B Campbell  Leonard on July 22, 1932. She departed this earthly life on Monday, February 27, 2023, at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center of Salisbury, North Carolina . She was proceeded in death by her husband Clarence Abram, her brothers John C. Leonard, Lechester Leonard, & Carlton Leonard, her sisters Donella Singleton, Alberta McNeil, Eula Lee Davis, & Marthenia Sneed.

Elista Mae accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. Through out her lifetime she was an active member of Mill Branch Baptist Church, Fairmont, North Carolina.  She served in many capacities to name a few: She was President of the BTU Ministry, Pastors Aid President, Homecoming Rally, Deaconess Ministry, She served in the Robeson Union for years;  President of the Spiritual Choir & Jr. Choir, Usher Ministry, Senior Choir, & Sunday School Teacher Elista attended school in Mullins S.C. & Fairmont (Rosenwald) after 30 years she went back to school and received her high school diploma.

She worked as a housekeeper for 20 years.  She also worked at Converse and retired after 24 years. She enjoyed spending time with family, she loved singing, cooking, and sewing.   She was always wll respected in the town of Fairmont  and will certainly be missed in the "Old Field" Community.   

Mrs. Elista Mae leaves to cherish her memories her children Clarence D. Abram, Carlton Abram, Eula M. Abram, Steven C. Abram, Milton E. Abram, Myrtle R. Martin, one sister Louise Harper, 16 Grandchildren, 29 Great-Grandchildren, & 9 Great-Great Grandchildren. Special friends Sylvia & Cleotha Dennison & Joann Abram and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
