Ms. Ellernore Williams was born to the late Foster & Eller Williams on October 19th, 1931, in Columbus County, North Carolina. She departed this life on December 8, 2022, in the comfort of her home surrounded by family.
Ellernore joined Ebenezer Baptist Church at an early age, where she loved to sing and praise the Lord. She held numerous positions in the church such as a member of the missionary committee, director of the youth choir, president of the senior choir, and a member of the anniversary committee. Ellernore attended the Public Schools of Robeson County, and later received certification as a home health aide at Robeson Community College. Along with working as a home health aide, she also worked in textile and dietary for the Public Schools of Robeson County, where she retired. She had a passion for cooking and was in her happy place when she was baking, or catering and cooking. She made a name for herself in Robeson County with her good country cooking and baking cakes.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Virginia Ford, sisters: Alma Peterson, Lizzie Lennon, & Carrie Brown, brothers: Elbert & Charlie Williams. She was also preceded in death by the late Jake Ford.
Ellernore leaves to cherish fond and loving memories Her daughters: Mae Helen Merchant of Fairmont, NC, Coretha (Alfred) McDougald of Laurinburg, NC; One son, Charles (Mazine) Williams of Lumberton, NC; one sister Helen Hill of Trenton, NJ. Five grandsons, three granddaughters, two great grandsons, five great granddaughters, four great-great grandsons, four sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, two bonus daughters: Crystal (Frank) Clawson, & Glenda Moore, and a host of other friends & relatives.
