Genora Ford was born May 1, 1948, the second of nine children born to the late Richard Ford and the late Georgianna Morant Ford. She went from labor to reward on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at home with family. She was preceded in death by her siblings: JoAnn, Richard Allen, Jean Ethel, Charles Benson, and Rita.
Genora graduated from Proctorville High School in 1966, where she was a member of the Lady Trojans basketball team.
Genora was a lifetime member of Ohovah AME Church and would often visit True Faith North. During her time at True Faith North, she would gather neighborhood children and walk them to church.
During her life, Genora was a dedicated worker in both New York and North Carolina. She worked in the Westchester County School System, food service industry, and health care. Genora was known as a helper and a giver throughout her family and the community.
An abundance of love and memories are left to her daughter, April (Lee) Roberson and their son Rahmel (Katrina). Her son, LaVander Ford (Sharon) and children Ashlee, LaVander, Domonique and grandkids Domonique, Diondre, Duain, and Aniyah. Her siblings, Rachel (Ernest) Stephens, Duain (Amanda) Ford, and Rickar Ford. Aunts, Uncles, and a host of nieces and nephews. Her special friend, Alice Webb.
