Reverend Jackie Lemonte Moody, son of the late Deacon Bobby Moody and the late Deaconess Mildred McCallum Moody was born on January 9, 1954 Lumberton NC. Jackie was born, nurtured and grew up in a loving family where his parents were active pillows of First Baptist Church, and Jackie followed the example of his parents. He loved his church and labored tirelessly to the best of his ability He was called from labor to reward on Monday January 11, 2021 at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, NC.
Rev. Moody was educated in the public schools of Robeson County. And after high school graduation he continued to his search for knowledge by attending Robeson Technical Institute in Lumberton, The University of Pembroke, in Pembroke , NC where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree. After he was called into the ministry to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, he studied at Shaw Divinity school in Raleigh, NC. Jackie was an ordained minister and served as Associate Minister at First Baptist Church. Jackie also pastored the Vision Missionary Baptist Church, in Little Rock, SC. Jackie was employed with the Public Schools Of Robeson County as a In Schools Suspension Officer. He had a nack for working with the kids who mostly needed someone to believe in them and listen to them...He was a father example for many during the time he worked in the school system.
Jackie was a kind and caring soul. He was known to help his fellowman in any way he could. He also was a lover of outdoors and loved tinkering on the farm with his tractor and lawn mowers and anything that kept him outside. He was a proud participant of the Future Farmers of America.
Rev. Jackie was preceded in death by his parents Bobby and Mildred Moody; 2 brothers, Jerry and Robert, 2 sisters Vera Rose Shipmen and Brenda Moody Taylor.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his loving and devoted wife, Donna B. Coleman Moody, his children; three daughters; Toscha Ford, Shanna Moody and Jacqueline Moody. Five sons; Kevin (Sharita) Moody, Reginald, Maurice, Marcus Cross and Howard Ray. Three siblings; Stanley (Cierra) Moody, Deacon Sherman (Gladys) Moody and Melvin Jerome (Geraldine) Moody. A brother-in-law Rev. Terry (Lashaunda) Coleman; Sisters-in-law: Pamela (Steve) Baldwin, Sabrina Coleman, Denise (Tommy) Lyons. A special Aunt Sandral Jean Owens. Ten grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Also two godchildren: Rhanna and Caden.
