Jerry Jerome Jackson

Mr. Jerry Jerome Jackson , 71 of Fairmont, North Carolina passed away on March 31, 2024 at the UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill.  Jerry was the son of Annie Ruth Campbell and the late Thomas Jackson. Jerry attended public school in Robeson County and attended Fairmont High School.  He grew up on Madison street and was a part of the Madison Street Crew.  He was very athletic while in school and running track was his specialty.  Jerry continued his education and became a certified welder.  He also was a licensed long distance truck driver. 

Jerry enjoyed helping others any time he could.  He was very good at lots of things and loved fixing things from lawn mowers to automobiles and farm tractors.   Many neighbors and folk in Fairmont have benefited and been blessed to have him around to "fix this for me".

Jerry moved back home to Fairmont from Rocky Mount.  He could be seen any evening covering the community on his bicycle.  He loved feeling the breeze on his face and seeing nature up close.  He attended First Baptist Church following the tradition set by his grand parents.   He will be missed in Fairmont.   

Jerry is survived by his mother, Annie Ruth Campbell, his Dad Franklin Campbell  two sisters: Marla Campbell-Tracey and Carolyn Campbell (aka Necie) one brother, Stephen Campbell, one aunt Vashti Inman;  and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
