Jimmie Hearl Chavis

Mr. Jimmie Hearl Chavis, the son of the late Gilbert Chavis and Lois Scott Chavis, was born on April 5, 1953 in Robeson County. He departed this life suddenly on Saturday February 18, 2023 at Cape Fear Medical Center in Fayetteville, North Carolina.  He now rest peacefully with the Lord at the age of sixty -nine.  He was preceded in death by his three brothers John "Hubert" Chavis, Gilbert "Junebug" Chavis Jr.,  Alexander Chavis and a sister Margie "Moosie" Chavis.

Known for his skilled craftsmanship, Jimmie was involved in the construction industry  as a laborer in the 70's and early 80's.  Jimmie was saved and brought to the Light Of the Lord in the early 90's becoming a better version of himself. His hobbies included but were not limited to, bicycling, crafting, repairing and worship. He displayed his love for others by being very generous and caring despite not having much to offer, giving you the shirt off his back if need be. His determination to help others leaves a sweet impression on him, one you can never forget. As a family-oriented man he never shied away from telling us how much he loved us.

Adored by many, remembered by all: Jimmie's infectious laughter and love has spread throughout many hearts within his lifefime and will coninue to do so, with Cathy Chavis of Hope Mills NC, daughter Tonya Chavis"Sweetpea", of Fayetteville, NC., a son Jimmy Chavis Jr. of St. Pauls, North Carolina.  His sister Diane Jacobs of Hamlet, NC, his brother's Bobby Chavis of Raleigh,NC, Claude Chavis of Rockingham, NC, Ernest Chavis of  Bessemer City, NC and Billy Chavis of Atlanta, GA.  His grandchildren, Jazmine, Jahlin, Jessy, Alissa, Ty, Johanna & Maddisen.  His two-great-grandchildren Jeremiah and Juliana and a host of other relatives and friends.
