Obituary

Mr. Kenneth Pittman, son of both the late Mr. Bruce Pittman and Dr. Mary Frances Bethea Swann was born March 16, 1955.    As a child born into a military family Kenny grew up in many places.  His roots were in Robeson County but they spread out to encompass many places in the US and abroad.  He received his high school diploma and enrolled at Fayetteville State University.  There he was a huge presence in the Bronco Marching Band where he was in the DRUMMER Section.   He loved to grill out and cook while experimenting with different dishes.  His last employment was at Fatz in Rockingham as one of the Chefs until it closed.  He worked there for years.  He loved his job and found pleasure in the satisfaction the customers express with their meals.

Growing up in a Christian home Kenny, the oldest of six children was well known for his role as a “ Big Brother”.  Time spent in Fairmont, Fayetteville, Richmond County taught him kindness, patience and sharing.   He loved his family.  Kenny accepted Christ at an early age and never strayed from the teachings of the church. He like all of us had our ups and our downs.  Knowing that there’s another land for the prepared people of God, Kenny was conscious of being ready.  Kenny loved to go to church anywhere and anytime to play the drums.  His presence in the music department was Hugh.  His greatest joy was making music and he was an excellent drummer.   He loved sports too, and did a lot of watching TV. He was always willing to help anyone in need.

On Tuesday March 23, 2021 in Moore Regional Hospital Pinehurst, North Carolina the last chapter of Kenneth’s life came to a close.   He heard the voice of his master, saying, “ Well Done Thy good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of the Lord”.  Knowing that this day would come he held on to his faith in Christ and ran his race with patience.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Mary.

His memory will be forever cherished by his siblings Bruno Pittman of Fayetteville, NC and Dale (Rhonda) Pittman of Texas. Sisters: Ramona (Raymond T.)
