Mildred Ann Warren

December 30, 2020

Ms. Mildred Ann Warren, daughter of the late Mrs. Viola Yelverton and  the late Mr. Isaac Warren and Mr. Lafeyette Bonds departed this life on Wednesday, December 30, 2020.  She was a patient at the Accordiius Health Nursing Home in Aberdeen, N. C at the time of her passing.    Mildred was always young at heart and was affectionally called, "Millie".  She was born on May 13, 1934, and was raised by her grandmother and lived in Goldsboro, NC as a young girl.  When she became an adult she moved to Paterson, New Jersey.  She attended college there and studied criminal law, graduating with a BA in criminal law.     She also lived with her family in Brooklyn, New York as well and attended the New Mt. Zion Baptist Church  there.

Millie worked as a Correctional Officer and also in the mental health field.  She worked mostly with adult patients in group homes in New Jersey.  Millie loved to be busy and worked sometimes 2 and 3 jobs at the same time. She began to have health problems but also continued to work as her health would allow.   She always kept a upbeat attitude about her illness and did not complain.  She retired at one point but still felt the need to work at a near by dry cleaner part time as she felt up to it.  Millie was a go getter and always worked to take care of what was important to her, and what was important to her was family and friends.

She leaves to mourn her only daughter, Deborah Warren and only grandson, Ronnie Warren.  Her sister, Janet Braswell and brother, Leon Little.  She treasured her nephews: Eugene, Anthony, Kelvin and Amondo, and her only niece, DeeDee.  The great-grand children left are: Lyric, Anayia, Zaraya, Nevah, Rihanra, Ronnie Jr. and Aaliyah; Two great-god sons; Jekia and Traylin along with a bunch of other family and her many friends.

We will miss you,Mildred but never will you be forgotten.   Sleep on Millie, and take your rest.  We loved you dearly , but God loved you best.

Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us everyday.
