Mrs. Patricia Gale Smith Johnson of New York, New York and formerly of Fairmont, North Carolina heard the voice of her Savior whisper, "Come Home", my good and faithful servant, your work on earth is done. She took her flight, shortly after noon on August 28, 2020 while at the Beacon Place in Greensboro ,North Carolina. She was born on June 6, 1939 to the late Josephine Smith Pittman and Clarence Smith. She grew up in Fairmont North Carolina and graduated from Rosenwald High School in 1956. Patricia was eighty-one years old.
Pat went to New York and worked at the New York telephone company. Later she enrolled at Adelphi University where she received her bachelor's degree. She furthered her education at Stony Brook University and received her master's degree in social work. She was employed by the Human Resources Administration (City of New York) Crossroads, Bronx, New York and St. Christopher Ottilie, Sea Cliff, New York for several years until her retirement.
Patricia was a loving sister, sister-in-law, cousin, and aunt. All who were a part of her life will miss her love, light and support.
Patricia was preceded in death by her mother Josephine Smith Pittman, her father Clarence Smith and her brother Harold C. Smith. Among those who will cherish her life, love and legacy are her aunt, Lucille McMillan and her daughters, Adrienne , Marsha and Madge; Her cousins; Crosby Inman and his children, Debbie, Karla and Lisa; Brian Davis and Pamela Davis and her son Kevin; Winford Bethea and Belinda Bethea and their children Cherisse; Darryle and her daughter Leanyse along with her children; Her sister-in-law, Evelyn; Her nephew, Hal and his wife Toni; Her niece, Kimberly and her husband Dante; great niece; Imani; Great Nephew, Dante Jr. and a host of cousins, dear friends, extended family, co-workers and neighbors.
