Paulette Pratt Obituary

Mrs. Paulette Morehead-Pratt’s earthly journey came to a quiet closure on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in High Point, N.C.

Paulette was born on February 4, 1948, in High Point, N.C. She attended Church Street School in Thomasville, N.C. where she graduated in 1966. At an early age, she dedicated her life to Jehovah, and was baptized on August 24, 1972, in Laurel, M.D. Paulette was an active member of the Southwest Congregation in Washington, D.C., prior to relocating back to Thomasville, where she joined the English-Thomasville Congregation, and the Oak Hollow Congregation, in High Point, N.C, thereafter.

She worked at Kayby Mills in Thomasville, for many years and later retired from Slane Hosiery Mill, in High Point. Paulette had a special skill and passion for knitting and was known for hosting catered meals at her home with close family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her late husband, Thomas Pratt; parents, Paul, and Muriel (Makupson) Morehead; siblings, Lester (Helen) Gaffney, Judy Skeen, “Pee-Wee” Evelyn Tate, Georgia Williams, Barbara Williams, and Dorothy Morehead-Gilmore; and children, Tera Robertson, and “Scotty” James H. Smith.

Left to cherish special memories are three sons: Billy (Joycelyn) Smith of Atlanta, G.A.; Teddy Smith of Chesapeake, V.A., and Jermaine Smith of Charlotte, N.C.; son-in-law, Dion Robertson; eight grandchildren: Demitric (Maeghan) Martinez, Joe Martinez, Kierston Smith, Christian Smith, Jizzel Torres, Jasmine (Mikel) Coke, Eva Smith, and Jasmyne (Nick) Wassam. Additionally, she leaves behind a special niece/sister, April Morehead, special cousin, Glennard (Betty) Smith, special sister-in-law, Jean Quick, seven great-grandchildren, and a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
