Obituary

Mrs. Rita Ford Flemister was born August 18, 1954 in Fairmont, North Carolina to Mr. Richard Ford and Mrs. Georgianna Morant Ford.  Her parents preceded her in death.  In childhood, Rita enjoyed working and playing on the family farm with her siblings and cousins.  After Rita graduated from high school, she chose to further her education and received an Associate Degree from Robeson Community College in Lumberton, NC.  As a youth she enjoyed participating in the choir and youth group at Ohovah AME Church in Barnesville, NC.    Rita received the call to "Go preach the gospel and she did that with passion and to the best of her ability.  She was a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ.  She was the mother of two wonderful sons Gidion and Brandon, and she enjoyed her role as grandmother to two loving devoted grandchildren. Rita was always loving and caring and was just a gentle soul. She loved working with her hands and was one of the best seamstresses around. Those of you who knew her work will miss her dearly.  She loved her three sisters to the moon and back and loved family outings and being in the company of her nieces and nephews and cousins, and friends.  Knowing that this day would come, Rita was prepared and ready and entered into eternal rest on Saturday December 12, 2020 in the comfort of her home.  The full obituary will follow soon.
