Sandra Melinda McCallum

Ms. Sandra Melinda McCallum, 61 of Lumberton, NC formerly of Rowland, NC departed this life on Wednesday December 28, 2022 at Grand Strand Medical Center, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. 

 She was the daughter of the late Mary Jane  & Mitchell McKinley and Archie Israel, Sr.  Sandra was born on January 17, 1961 in Dillon, South Carolina. She attended the public schools of Robeson County, graduated from Rowland High.  She also attended Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, NC. At an early age she accepted Christ and joined Cedar Grove Church, now known as New Hope United Methodist Church.  In 1980 Sandra began working at Kayser-Roth Hosiery in Lumberton, North Carolina, where she managed one of the largest departments and continued as a supervisor until her health failed.  Sandra was a dedicated employee and hard worker. She also adored her church family, where she was faithful as the Treasurer, a member of the Usher Board, and a member of the United Methodist Women.  She loved her son, LaKeith, and enjoyed spending time with her two granddaughters, Kierra and Jireh, and her great-grandson, Kaeson.  Sandra's two caretakers she loved, Beatrice Belin and Marcella Mitchell.  Sandra was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend. 

Sandra Melinda McCallum was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Jane and Mitchell McKinley, her long-time companion, Donald Lee Townsend. 

She leaves to cherish precious memories: Her son, LaKeith Eugene McCallum  of Burlington, NJ; two grand-daughters, Kierra McCallum and Jireh McCallum, of Raleigh, NC; one great-grandson, Kaeson; her father Archie (Elaine) Israel of Mayland; two special daughters, Sommer Belin Green "Miss Lucy" of Trenton, NJ and Tamika Daniels, Raleigh NC; her Siblings - Michael (Djuana) Withers, Maryland; Archie (Lynn) Israel, Jr. Maryland; Marcella (Alfred) Mitchell, Dillon, SC; Jacqueline (Timothy) Abercrombie, Maryland; Teresa Green, Maryland; Aunts and Uncles who were more like sisters and brothers growing up in the family home in Rowland, North Carolina; Howard (Jeanette) McCallum; William (Mildred) McCallum, both of Trenton, NJ; Elizabeth McCallum, Columbia, SC; James (Connie) McCallum, Rowland, NC; Beatrice Belin, Dillon SC; One uncle, Martin Israel, Pembroke, NC; Special cousin, Fannie Sue Johnson, Rowlalnd, NC Special "Like Family" the Townsend's - Harry Moody; William James, Jr, Michael Townsend, Charles Townsend, Kelvin Townsend, Maxine Thompson, Aisha Carter, Janice Thompson, Laura (William) Richardson, Lula Townsend, Sharon Townsend, Veronica Townsend, Rose Townsend, Patricia Townsend, Willa Townsend, Melissa (James) McQueen. A host of other Aunts, Uncles, Neices, Nephews and Cousins.
