William Arthur Nealy

William Arthur “Bill” Nealy (Chuffie) was born on July 21, 1945. He was the fifth child born to the late Arthur Plummer Nealy and Lorena Odessa Taylor Nealy. He was born in Robeson County, Lumberton, North Carolina.

He left his earthly home to claim his heavenly mansion on Monday, September 18, 2023 in the comfort of his home..

Chuffie was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Bessie Lee Covington, four brothers, Letemon Nealy, Johnny Brooks Nealy, Sr., James Luther Nealy, and Terence (Terry) Maurice Nealy, Sr. William began his early childhood education at Proctorville High School, Proctorville North Carolina and received his high school diploma from the University of the State of New York Education Department in Buffalo, New York.

Chuffie was married to the late Tennie Mae Blue; to this union one child, Tina Denise Nealy was born, who preceded him in death. He later married Lanette Nealy, who also preceded him in death. To this union he gained two stepchildren.

 He leaves to cherish his memory the love of his life, Cathy Kaylor. One daughter/grand-daughter, Sade’ Denise Nealy. Two stepchildren, Cameron Denton (Angalica) and Courtney Denton. Four brothers: Lee Morris Nealy of Lyons, NY; Matthew Nealy of Greensboro, NC; James Larry Nealy (Beverly) of Goose Creek, SC; James Ricky Nealy of Greensboro, NC; four sisters: Brenda Lois Powell (Andrew Sr.) of Newburgh, NY; Gwenda Nealy of Greensboro, NC; Sarah Margaret McNair of Fayetteville, NC; Sheila Odessa Morris (Timothy) of Hope Mills, NC; 2 sisters-in-law; Linda Gerald Nealy of Raleigh and Sonya Nealy; eight grandchildren: Javonte Kendall, Shatina Aneice, Shaquille O’Neal, Cameron Jr., Gaberiel, Mirkale, Kahmiya, and Aaliyah. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He is also loved and cherished by his Penny’s Place family in Soddy Daisy, TN. Also a special cousin, Johnny Stephens.

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 4:00 till 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at Williamson and Sons Funeral Home in Soddy Daisy, TN. Bill will then be brought to his final resting place in Fairmont, NC where his life celebration will be held at the Heaven Bound New Vision Church in Lumberton. Pastor Lonnie Nealy will lead the celebration which will be held on Saturday September 23, 2023 at 1:00 PM.  a one-hour viewing will be held at the church before the services.
